Savlanut

It’s not that I don’t trust the LORD.  It’s not that I doubt that his plan is perfect for John and I and the 5 kiddos He has placed in our care.  It’s not that I am worried or anxious that things won’t ‘work out’.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.  Phil4:6

My problem happens to be one of patience.  As a little girl (and to be honest as a teenager too) I heard the word ‘savlanut’ about 1,000 times a day.  Anyone want to take a guess at what that word means?

My patience test right now.  Elias.  We are STILL waiting on permission from the judge to leave the country with him.  With all there is to do in the two short months before we leave, the last thing I want to be doing is WAITING on a judge.  And, the reason it’s being held up is for a reason other than what’s best for Elias.  Right now the judge wants to make sure it won’t be harmful to Glenis’ mental health for Elias to be away for 6 months.  I have to confess - it makes me mad.  Glenis’ is in agreement for him to travel to the States with us, so what’s the hold up?

One thing I have learned over the years is that there are so many branches to situations that I can’t see.  So, I trust that there are reasons why we are ‘delayed’; reasons why the judge is still questioning. I do what I hate doing, I WAIT!

Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Psalm 37:7a

With thanksgiving will you be still before the LORD with me and lift up Elias as a request to Him?  That we would be able to take him to the States with us in July.  And, that I would be patient in this process.

  1. Girl - this truly is the most excruciatingly LONG process I have seen in a LONG time!!!! I pray for His timing in all things...but that doesn't stop me from praying specifically for our timing as well :-)
