Attitude

The past several days I have to admit I have had a pretty crappy attitude.  We have been in Honduras for almost 3 months and still have not been able to purchase a vehicle.  A couple of weeks ago my mother-in-law finally got our van in the States sold which meant we had $ to go towards the purchase of a van here in Honduras.  We decided last week that we would take a small portion of that money and purchase a beat-up truck that would be useful until God provided enough resources for the purchase of a 15+ passenger van. Yesterday we were notified by the lawyer that she needed $2,500 TODAY to pay for our residency visas as well as an extension on our tourist visas until our residency is approved.  There went the $ to buy a truck this coming ‘no-work-team’ week.

Here is my entry in today’s prayer journal:
"Today I am asking you for things, Lord.  I ask because I know you can do/give whatever.  You are God and only you supply my needs -
a car - please please please provide us w/ a vehicle this week, today???”

Not two hours later we received the following e-mail:
As a heads-up, we will be adding 7k to your car fund and 5k to your general MTW fund.  God has blessed us financially and we would like to share that blessing with you by supporting you in this way as you get established in Honduras.

With what we already had in our car fund we now have enough to purchase a van - not just a beat up truck to get us by!  It won’t get purchased today, but that is not the point.  The point is I have spent the past few days focusing on circumstances and what I don’t have instead of focusing on the TRUTH that I serve a God who is greater than any circumstance.  I have a Father who knows how and WHEN to take care of my needs (and wants).

The vessel God used to provide vehicle resources doesn’t want the praise and credit - that is due to God and God alone.  Don’t you love the way our Father works though?  Using one child to take care of another child.  Praise HIM from whom all blessings flow -- and thank Him for all His children who he has and will continue to use to provide and take care of us as we strive to serve Him here in Honduras!

Please pray for wisdom this week as we search the paper and used car lots for a 15+ passenger van that will be a HUGE blessing to the ministry (as well as to our family).

  1. Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.

We rejoice with YALL!!! Thanks for sharing! He is soooo good...even when we have bad attitudes, he gently reminds us to go to HIM and then, trust and rest...He reminds us it's His plan and He will unfold it in HIS time! :-)

    Much Love!
