COUNTDOWN 8

In less than 24 hours we will be heading out for a LlllOoooNnnnGggg  car ride to John's parents in TX. We will be spending a week with them before heading out to our new home.

Today is a crazy day (do the Clows have any other kind of day???) of packing, last minute errands, celebrating my Dad's birthday, bringing Grun home from the hospital (Lord willing) and saying goodbye.  I prefer 'se ya later' for most all my family.  However....

Being realistic I know that today will probably be the last time that I see my 93 year old grandmother.  These bodies we live in  our mortal, God never promised these bodies would last forever.  I rejoice for my grandmother that one day (be it she could live till 100) she will receive her new body...one that doesn't require she be bound to a wheelchair or the need for others to help get her in and out of bed and take her to the bathroom.

So while a part of me grieves the losses that I am going through right now....I REJOICE that God has a better home awaiting us...He has a better plan for our lives that require a few losses so that HE can receive all honor and glory and praise.

What is our chief purpose? To glorify God!  Oh Lord, may I do all in this earthly world to accomplish the reason that you have me here, Amen.

  1. Although it's not the "see ya later" you may have in mind, I'm glad to know that you will see your grandma again.

At both of my parent's funerals I distinctly remember the pastor saying, "This really isn't 'good-bye', it's 'see you later'". It was also said last month at the funeral for my 52 year-old brother-in-law. To me, it's very comforting...I hope it is for you.

I look forward to following your transition to Honduras and what God has for your family in this next season.
