Thanksgiving
I am thankful for:
A Heavenly Father who loves me
An incredible husband to share life with
Four precious children to guide and nurture
Family and friends who are 'community' to me
A wild breeze on a perfect fall weather day
A good cup of coffee and a good book
The list could go on and on of all the things that I am thankful for. Being honest, however, at this moment I am most thankful that 2009 is almost over. With that comes the sorrow of packing yet again and saying goodbye to Mexico and the Texas border. The sorrow (at least when the packing is finally finished) quickly turns to joy and excitement as I anticipate our upcoming move to Honduras! I am most thankful that God has allowed this family to be His hands and feet to those who so desperately need to know of His unfailing, never ending love and redemption that He so freely offers to them. I am thankful that we have been called to show minister mercy to them. I am so thankful for all of you who sacrificially give so that we can live and work in La Ceiba, Honduras.
We have been off line for a week as we spent time with John's parents. We arrived home last night and this morning were able to check our support account. We had another pledge come in last week of $20 a month!
We are in the home stretch - just three weeks until we pack our clothes and what few possessions that are keep sakes which we will store at John's parents. This coming weekend is our BIG garage sale....we are praying that EVERYTHING will be sold....and we can be free of 'stuff' that we don't really need....( - :
Blessings to you all as we enter this Holiday Season -- remember it's not the "stuff" that we purchase and give -- it's the love and care that we show, ...for they will know that we are His children by the love that we show one another....
